The Tale of Two Cities

Scripture Passage: Genesis 4:1-26

  1. God pleads with the ungodly
    • He encourages repentance.
    • He warns of the power of sin.
    • He pleads repeatedly.
    • He is merciful even in judgment.
  2. God restrains sin and protects the sinner
  3. God allows the ungodly to prosper
    • The ungodly have children.
    • The ungodly are successful builders.
    • The ungodly enjoy pleasure and beauty.
    • The ungodly are "successful" in life.
    • The ungodly seemingly "prosper" as sinners.
  4. God has a plan for the godly
    • The godly acknowledge the Lord.
    • The godly understand their need for the Lord.
    • The godly depend on the Lord.
