#0406 - I Did Not Pee On A Dog, JEEZ! - 08/10/2026

The Viktor Wilt Show begins exactly how a Monday deserves to begin: with Viktor Wilt running on approximately three molecules of sleep, wondering why being in bed at a reasonable hour apparently no longer guarantees the human body will perform the extremely basic task of shutting down. After a weekend of yard sailing, lazily playing Red Dead Redemption 2, and accomplishing significantly less than theoretically possible, Viktor arrives at work spiritually prepared to do absolutely nothing while physically being required to do several hours of radio. The weather immediately joins the assault, with temperatures climbing toward 96 degrees before the promise of thunderstorms and much more tolerable temperatures later in the week provides a tiny glimmer of hope.

Then, somehow, the morning gets even stupider: Viktor discovers what he describes as possibly the greatest Bigfoot video ever recorded, only to discover that the legendary forest cryptid is actually a bison wandering through fog. For several glorious seconds, the animal looks exactly like the sort of blurry, enormous, vaguely humanoid creature that has launched approximately 9,000 Bigfoot investigations, documentaries, blurry photographs, and men named Greg into the wilderness with binoculars. But once the camera gets closer, the terrifying Sasquatch reveals itself to be a large furry idiot simply walking around being a bison. This leads Viktor down the rabbit hole of other cryptid explanations, including the Bear Lake Monster, which could potentially be explained by an elk swimming across Bear Lake with nothing visible except its head and enormous antlers. Apparently, the world's cryptozoological mysteries may simply be wildlife caught from an unfortunate camera angle.

From there, the show enters the first major social-media stupidity incident of the morning. Over the weekend, Becca filmed Viktor filling up the dog's swimming pool with a hose, but positioned him in such a way that it looked like he was urinating into the pool. Then Millie the dog wandered directly into the stream of water because she apparently has absolutely no survival instincts whatsoever and loves the hose. Becca posted the video with a caption implying Viktor was actually peeing on the dog, and despite the fact that the hose is visible throughout the entire video and Viktor literally reveals the sprayer at the end, people became furious. Even Viktor's own children apparently fell for it before being instructed to watch the entire video. The result: two angry messages, approximately two lost Facebook followers, and a couple of new followers to compensate. Viktor is less concerned about the outrage than fascinated by the fact that people apparently possess the attention span of a fruit fly experiencing a medical emergency.

The fake dog-pee controversy also becomes a broader philosophical investigation into the modern internet: apparently people will watch ten seconds of something, construct an entire moral indictment of the person involved, and then immediately begin typing angry messages without bothering to reach the conclusion. Viktor repeatedly insists the video was so obviously ridiculous that nobody should have believed it, yet somehow people—including members of his own family—did. This becomes especially funny because Viktor has apparently developed a personal social-media metric where he watches his follower count after intentionally provocative posts to see how many people flee the premises. The number generally doesn't move much unless he gets into a truly spectacular argument with somebody, meaning his online enemies have apparently mastered the art of being furious while remaining subscribed.

The show then takes an unexpectedly earnest detour into drinking, boredom, and what people can do at night instead of consuming alcohol. Viktor discusses a Reddit post from a 26-year-old woman who drinks every night because she's bored and has found herself escalating from one drink to an entire bottle or several White Claws. The conversation turns into an accidental survival guide for getting through the evening without drinking: video games, books, cooking, embroidery, crafts, walking the dog, cleaning, decorating, working on finances, listening to podcasts, taking a bath, watching television, and drinking non-alcoholic beverages. Viktor's basic philosophy is devastatingly simple: you are far more likely to wake up wishing you hadn't gotten hammered than wake up wishing you had gotten even more hammered. Red Dead Redemption 2, meanwhile, emerges as an apparently legitimate alternative to making terrible decisions at night.

Then comes the grocery store economic horror segment. Viktor encounters a Reddit discussion asking which grocery item has experienced the most ridiculous price increase and immediately predicts that the comments will simply name every food product currently located inside a grocery store. Having recently complained about the price of aluminum foil, he describes the modern grocery trip as an increasingly elaborate financial ambush where you walk in intending to buy ingredients for one meal and somehow emerge $60 poorer while wondering why you didn't just stay home. This naturally evolves into a discussion about bills, mortgages, car insurance, utilities, streaming services, internet, credit cards, and the fantasy of winning the lottery so that the entire monthly ritual of watching money disappear can finally stop.

The episode then asks what used to be considered a status symbol but has now become cheap, cringe, or pointless. The answers include social-media blue checkmarks, limousines, gold-plated office and bathroom decorations, NFTs, spinner rims, designer clothing, full cable packages, and—most brutally—podcasts with terrible production quality. Viktor points out that podcasting has become so accessible that practically anyone can start one, and he admits to occasionally hearing successful podcasts with such terrible audio that he begins questioning whether his own production quality is actually good. Fortunately, he decides that at least his show sounds good, which is precisely the sort of completely objective professional review every radio host should conduct on himself before returning to the microphone.

Then comes the good news: after an earlier logistical disaster involving Live Nation, the Godsmack tickets have finally arrived. Viktor and Peaches will be giving away tickets throughout the week for Godsmack and Dorothy at the Mountain America Center on October 10. The promotion had originally been intended to happen earlier, but the ticket situation became a bureaucratic swamp, leaving at least one listener repeatedly asking Peaches every day whether the tickets had been given away yet. Now the wait is over. Listeners simply need to pay attention for the caller-number giveaway and potentially win themselves tickets to see Godsmack live. Viktor also makes it clear that Godsmack puts on an impressive live show, so this is one of the rare segments where the morning's insanity produces an actual prize instead of a Facebook argument.

The wildlife portion of the program then escalates into the international bison division. A tourist in Poland gets attacked by a bison, proving that getting absolutely demolished by enormous horned mammals is not exclusively a Yellowstone problem. Viktor compares this incident with a previous bison attack that resulted in a broken femur and hip replacement, once again demonstrating that the bison is not your friend, your pet, your Disney character, or your opportunity for an Instagram selfie. The conversation then flips to deer and mountain lions, with Viktor discussing information suggesting that areas with more mountain lions can have significantly fewer vehicle-deer collisions because apparently the apex predators are d...
