Keffe D Wanted One Thing After Tupac Died

Thirty years of asking who killed Tupac Shakur, and the answer playing in a Las Vegas courtroom is Duane "Keffe D" Davis narrating the night himself. Day 5 put his 2009 police interview in front of the jury, and it starts with what he wanted the moment he knew Tupac was gone. From there the tape rolls through his whole account: the Tyson fight, the lobby beating of his nephew, a failed hunt for Suge Knight's car at Club 662, and a white Cadillac pulling up beside a black BMW. His word for how they found it was luck. He describes the gun, the handoff, and shots he claims were meant for the driver's seat, not the passenger who died. Leonard Jefferson, who snapped the final photo of Tupac at a stoplight minutes before the shooting, told jurors police released him from the scene and then had to hunt him down at his hotel to get him back. The jury also heard how Davis's story became an industry: a detective's book, a paid docuseries appearance, sealed audio spliced into television. Sean Combs appears in Davis's telling; Combs denies all of it, was never a suspect, and faces no charges. Davis ended the week on his feet, pointing at the prosecutor. Monday, the tapes keep rolling.
