What to expect from Climate Week NYC: Why resilience is high on the agenda

Climate Week NYC 2026 runs Sept. 20-27, with 100,000 attendees expected across more than 1,000 events. In this episode of the All Things Sustainable podcast, we dive into what to expect in an interview with Peter Gilmer, the new CEO of The Nest Campus.

The Nest Campus is one of Climate Week NYC's largest gatherings, with an estimated 10,000 to 12,000 attendees expected over the three days of the event. In the episode, Peter explains the event's new name and ownership, why resilience is a rising focus in climate conversations around the world, and why The Nest Campus is organized around the idea of the "resilience economy."

"That means future-proofing our businesses, our supply chains, our economies, our natural systems, and our societies," Peter tells us.

Peter also explains that AI will play a bigger role at The Nest Campus in 2026, acting as a "force multiplier" to connect attendees even as the event explores the technology's potential downsides.

"We're not holding up AI as this kind of silver bullet," Peter says. "We're making sure that we're having very balanced conversations to discuss the good and the bad and the ugly."
