Britain Just Gave Ukraine the Keys to Build Storm Shadow Missiles

Britain has authorized the release of classified technical information concerning British components used in the SCALP cruise missile—the French counterpart of Storm Shadow. This clears the way for France and Ukraine to establish missile assembly lines on Ukrainian soil. It does not necessarily mean Ukraine can immediately manufacture every component independently, but it moves Ukraine beyond receiving finite Western stockpiles and toward producing long-range weapons domestically.

The Kremlin immediately condemned the decision as “fuel on the fire” and threatened to identify and strike the production facilities. Meanwhile, Germany is considering a nearly €12 billion long-range missile arsenal that could include Ukrainian BARS and Flamingo missiles, while Armenia is moving away from Russia’s security orbit and preparing to apply for European Union membership.

I also examine Russian disinformation operations, possible preparations for another Russian mobilization, Lukashenko’s contradictory Independence Day messages, Russia’s increasingly hostile portrayal of the United States, and President Zelensky’s remarks at Ukraine’s National Prayer Breakfast.
