3557: Red Face & Hot Flashes, Bad Breath, Dry Feet, Acne & Gut Health, Increased Cholesterol (HouseCall)

Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows!

Check out today's questions:

Sami: Hi Dr. Cabral! I'm currently in level 1 IHP certification program right now and loving everything so far. I'm even going to try the 14 day detox soon. Anyways my question pertains to myself that I've been struggling with for a bit. I'm a 24 year old female who lives a pretty healthy lifestyle but the one things I can't seem to figure out is why my face turns bright red and I get a hot flashes when I speak to people about 60% of the time. It happens at random times and with random convos. Is this something happening internally that could be causing this? Any recommendations?? Matt: Hey Dr. C! I have pretty good oral health. I use a tongue scraper, floss, FYGG toothpaste and I brush 2x a day. I also use their oral breath mints. However, my wife still tells me that my breath smells bad. Obviously, I don't want this. Lol. I don't want to use conventional toothpaste/mouthwash since there's a lot of chemicals in there. Would love to hear your take on this. Thanks for being the man the myth and the legend! -Matt Della: My right foot has been extremely dry for the past couple of years. Left foot, Normal, no dryness whatsoever. What could possibly be the reason? Help! Rachel: My teenage daughter has been struggling with acne, and we've tried multiple topical treatments with limited results. Could diet or gut health be playing a role, and if so, where should we start? 10/2 Yvonne: My cholesterol labs have increased from previously: total cholesterol is now 6.44 (Normal range: below <5.20 mmol/L) and LDL 3.92 (Normal range: below <3.50 mmol/L)? Non High Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol is 4.23 (Normal range: below <4.20 mmol/L). Other lipid lab values are normal. Triglycerides Normal range: below =1.30 mmol/L - my value 2.21. Do you consider these abnormal and, if so, what can I do to reduce those numbers? I am hypothyroid (take natural dessicated thyroid) and pre-diabetic - generally A1C hovers between 5.9 and 6. Thank you for tuning into today's Cabral HouseCall and be sure to check back tomorrow where we answer more of our community's questions! - - -
