Michael L. Burge grew up in North Carolina and Virginia, watched his parents split, was a good kid overall — skipped college, started working, got caught up with the wrong crowd, started robbing houses and businesses, and received a 17 year sentence in the North Carolina state prison system that took him in at 23 years old and handed him back to the world at 40.
