Tucker's Subversive Plan, Aleksandr Dugin, and the Foreign Op Behind It All | Weds LIVE Ep. 48

Weds LIVE guests: James Lindsay, Ryan Mauro, J Michael Waller Tucker Carlson has told the Columbia Journalism Review he intends to help build a third party, calling the American government "a one-party state posing as a democracy" that "needs to be broken." Marjorie Taylor Greene, Thomas Massie, Joe Kent, and Brian Glenn have now been photographed around Carlson's table, with Greene declaring that "the movement has begun." Jeremy has been making one argument about Tucker Carlson for a long time, and it wasn't the popular one. The popular argument on the right is that Tucker is a grifter — that he says whatever the audience wants to hear because the audience pays for it. Jeremy's argument has been the opposite, and it is more troubling: Tucker isn't chasing a check. He's building something. A political project with a coherent shape — socially conservative, economically left of the Republican Party, and organized around opposition to Israel and to American power abroad. That political project isn't merely an organic movement. It's the result of hostile foreign actors who have been working, through division and chaos, to take down the West for decades. James Lindsay — mathematician, co-author of Cynical Theories, founder of New Discourses, and the man who popularized the term "woke right" — returns to the show to trace the philosophical chain. In April 2024, Carlson sat in Moscow with Aleksandr Dugin, who has been under American sanctions since 2015, and let Dugin tell a Christian audience that transgenderism, the assault on the family, and the transhumanist project all descend from the Protestant Reformation. Carlson's response: "What you're describing is clearly happening, and it's horrifying." Lindsay explains why you cannot accept that diagnosis without swallowing the prescription — and why, if the Reformation was the original error, the American founding becomes the disease rather than the cure. J. Michael Waller — author of 'Big Intel' and 'Secret Empire: The KGB in Russia Today,' president of Georgetown Research, who learned Soviet disinformation tradecraft from defector Ladislav Bittman — supplies the operational history. Soviet theorists called the move reflexive control: you don't tell your adversary what to do, you shape what he believes about himself until he chooses your objective and calls it his own idea. Waller walks through his "Ten Points to Understand Alexandr Dugin," including Dugin's own stated goal of "the destruction of the American empire," and why multipolarity has always been a scam. Power isn't shared between superpowers. Somebody is always in charge. Ryan Mauro — senior fellow for counter-extremism at the Capital Research Center, president of the Mauro Institute — brings the current reporting. Mauro broke the story placing Candace Owens on the SPIEF program in Russia. He also investigated the woman Carlson introduced to his audience as Elizabeth Lane; according to a report from The Insider, her name is Iza Bendianishvili and her romantic partner is an FSB officer. When Carlson raised the intelligence allegations on air, he said: "I just wanna say out loud, I don't care." Mauro will explain what he found, and what happened when Lane learned he was looking. The right spent fifteen years learning to recognize ideological capture arriving from the left. The question this hour asks is whether it missed the same thing arriving from the east — and whether a third party organized around contempt for the American inheritance is a conservative project at all, or a very old one wearing conservative clothes. Also discussed: the collapse of journalistic guardrails and who is left to monitor any of this; whether institutional distrust on the right now runs on the same mechanism as critical theory; and concrete habits for the viewer who no longer trusts a single institutional source.
