Kushner Says PEACE Hinges on Land RUSSIA COULDN’T TAKE

I examine Jared Kushner’s argument that a Ukraine settlement hinges on territory Volodymyr Zelensky refuses to surrender—and why that framing leaves out the equally central issue: Vladimir Putin’s refusal to withdraw from Ukrainian land. Russia’s political leadership reportedly wants Donetsk and Luhansk captured before 2027, while the Institute for the Study of War assesses that Russia could not take the full area at its current pace until 2032. That gap matters for any claim that territorial concessions would produce a durable peace.
