How to Fight a NSW Fine: Legit Ways to Get Fines Cancelled or Reduced

Got a NSW fine you think you shouldn't have to pay — or simply can't afford right now?

Before you automatically pay, it may be worth checking whether you have legitimate grounds to request a review. In this video, we break down the Revenue-NSW Review-Assist framework and look at circumstances that may help, including a clear driving record, medical emergencies, vehicle breakdowns, faulty parking equipment, personal hardship and other special circumstances.

We also look at why some offences are much harder to get leniency for, what evidence can strengthen your case, and what options may exist if you're struggling to pay.

With the cost of living putting pressure on so many households, knowing your rights and understanding the review process could potentially save you money.

⚠️ Disclaimer: This video is for general information only, not legal advice. It is based partly on Revenue-NSW material that may not fully reflect 2026 rules or current review criteria. Rules and eligibility can change, so check the latest official NSW- Government/Revenue-NSW guidance before acting. Only make genuine claims and provide accurate evidence.
