Do You Fear God? | Discipleship Series | Why the Fear of the Lord Still Matters

Jesus taught us to love God—but He also taught us to fear God.

So what does the Bible actually mean when it tells us to fear the Lord? Is it simply respect? Are Christians supposed to be afraid of God? And if we are saved by grace, why does the fear of God still matter?

In this episode of the Discipleship Series, Kayla and Elwood dig into what Scripture says about the fear of the Lord and why it should affect the way every follower of Jesus lives.

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” — Proverbs 9:10

The fear of God isn't about running away from Him. It's recognizing who He is—holy, righteous, all-knowing, all-powerful and worthy of our complete reverence and obedience.

We should never become so familiar with God that we forget WHO HE IS.

Fear God.

Obey Him.

Love Him.

Honor Him.

And live like He is truly LORD.
