Pliny the Elder on UFOs: How Ancient Skywatchers Read Comets as Omens | TruthSeekah & Aaron

Pliny catalogued comets and categorized them by type, and he recorded one that would fly, stop, stay stationary for hours, and then fly again, an observation made long before the modern hoax era. Almost every ancient writer believed these objects were tied to omens, that seeing one was special, that it would bless you and inspire you. Whether the omen was good or bad depended on which constellation the object appeared in or came out of. The work of the Ancients, who spent lifetimes under the stars, frames what we now call UFO activity as intelligent, purposeful and intimately connected to human inspiration.

The Greek daimon, which became our word demon, originally meant a guiding spirit, a tutelary deity, a servant of God, essentially our word for angel. The religious writings called these beings angels first and later demonized them, closing the door for so many people.
