Olive Vox | From SXSW to When the Dream Got Real

Olive Vox | From SXSW to When the Dream Got Real

Years before the record deal, Olive Vox were a young Texas band playing KLBJ SXSW showcases and getting featured on Armadillo Nation. LA Lloyd knew them then. Now they’re signed to Big Machine Rock, touring with the Toadies and releasing their new EP, Trace It Back.

Olive Vox joins LA on the Rock 30 for a full-circle conversation about brothers growing into equals, finding each member’s voice inside the band, learning to put more truth into their songs, hearing themselves on the radio for the first time, and what it means when people like Matt Pinfield start championing your music.

And after watching their journey from those early Austin days, LA asks the question at the heart of this conversation: How close is the life you’re living right now to what you dreamed about when all of this started?

Sometimes you’re so busy chasing the dream, you don’t realize you’re already standing inside part of it.
