Patrick Rieger sent St Patrick's Day Feedback from 2026: "Hi Marc,

My family and I marched in Pittsburgh's Saint Patrick's Day Parade again but this time for one of our other activities, representing the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh. We were joined by three other members of the club. As far as I know, this is the first time in its 97 year history the club was represented in the parade, which itself started in 1869. The parade celebrates Saint Patrick and the Irish, but also Pittsburgh and its people, and the club is part of that.

The parade started at 10AM but since we were near the back, we didn't start moving until 11:30, so we had time to talk with other participants.. I love the variety of groups in the parade, One of our members brought a small telescope with a Sun filter so we could safely show people the Sun while we waited. The Saturday Light Brigade radio program likes to hear from people at the parade so I gave them a call.

Here are some photos. Yes, that is someone dressed as a pierogi on a scooter, pierogies are big in Pittsburgh. My wife and I carried the banner. It was a joy to be in the parade again, and I hope the club is willing for us to do it again next year.

We didn't go to any celebrations, they would be too crowded and too crazy. We went to one of our observatories where people brought games and snacked on pizza instead. I'll get back to the pub after the holiday."

John L Pearson emailed about the Celtic Protest Songs episode: "Marc, I've been listening forever and have written you a couple other times over the years. I had to write and thank you for this great and necessary episode. Not only a necessary idea and thing to do in our current moment, but beautifully done. Great selection of songs, and I love the history and commentary you wove into the episode. I'm sure you'll get some feedback complaining that you shouldn't get political, but right now it is necessary. And really, it's hardly even political; it's just talking about the reality of the moment. Thanks as always for your great work and especially this inspirational episode.
