Trial Of Caleb Flynn Day 5: Botner Reveals His Alleged Hire-Who Message

Alleigha Botner's continued testimony in the Caleb Flynn trial brought jurors back inside the text history between the two. Botner testified that one message from Caleb said, "Please hire someone to take douche out!"

Caleb Flynn is charged in the death of his wife, Ashley Flynn, and has pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors allege the former worship pastor killed Ashley on February 16, 2026, then staged the scene as a home invasion. His defense says the burglary was real and investigators settled on Caleb too quickly.

That makes Botner's reading of the messages important for a very specific reason: prosecutors are asking jurors to consider the language as part of their theory of intent and motive. The defense still gets to challenge what those words meant, the context around them, and whether hateful language is evidence of murder. The jury heard the words. What legal weight they carry is a separate question.
