A LOT Was Happening Last Night

I examine the reported Ukrainian overnight strikes on Russia’s Ilsky oil refinery in Krasnodar Krai, the Azov optical-mechanical plant in Rostov, ammunition depots in occupied Luhansk and Donetsk, and a P-18 Terek radar station. Ilsky has roughly 6.6 million tons of annual capacity, while the Azov plant is described as a supplier of components for Russian precision weapons. The strategic question is whether repeated strikes can impose sustained costs on Russia’s fuel, production, and air-defense systems.

I also cover Russia’s reported 173-drone attack on Ukraine: Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were affected, with reported strikes on residential areas, a hospital, a pharmaceutical plant, warehouses, and a Swedish paint factory. On the front, reported Russian land-equipment losses reached the war’s second-highest daily total despite below-average engagement levels.
