Mallorca Restaurants, Wine, Fiestas and Local Discoveries with Jan Edwards

Mallorca Restaurants, Wine, Fiestas and Local Discoveries with Jan Edwards

Jan Edwards returns to the Majorca Mallorca Podcast with a tour of some of her latest food, drink and cultural discoveries around Mallorca. From a newly reopened countryside hotel near Manacor and a neighbourhood restaurant in Palma to Peruvian food, wine events and the Rafa Nadal Academy, Jan has plenty of recommendations.

Jan Edwards is back, and this time the conversation ranges across a large part of Mallorca.

The episode begins with the changing weather and how a less predictable summer has affected restaurants. Jan then talks about the newly opened restaurant at Rotana La Reserva, including its terrace, food, chef and plans for winter opening.

From there, the conversation moves to La Vida, Bar Rey Sancho and a new Peruvian restaurant in Villafranca. There is also a fascinating detour into AI-generated background music in restaurants and the question of who gets paid when creative work is generated by AI.

Jan also shares her experience at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Manacor, talks about Mallorca's wine industry and the move towards lower-alcohol wines, and explains why Binissalem's grape festival is worth experiencing.

The second half becomes more personal, covering village life, local fiestas, agrotourism, Spanish-language learning and upcoming food events including Peccata Minuta and TaPalma.
