Biography Flash: Dean Withers Slams Trump TV as State Run Media Sparks Viral Backlash

Dean Withers Biography Flash a weekly Biography. In the past few days, Dean Withers has drawn fresh attention as a political commentator after criticizing the launch of Trump TV, a new television venture associated with President Donald Trump. On September 22, Withers posted on X that Trump had recently barred CNN, MS NOW, and other outlets from the White House, then announced what he called state run television. He concluded, quote, It’s official, we live in North Korea. According to Yahoo News, Withers’s post became part of wider coverage comparing the venture with state controlled media. The Independent also quoted him in reports about Trump TV’s poor early ratings, including coverage claiming that more people were watching a blank screen than the new channel. Those reports suggest that his comment was amplified because it captured a broader criticism from journalists, political figures, and former Trump officials who questioned the channel’s independence and presentation. The story was also picked up by the Independent and other outlets on September 23 and 24, making it the clearest verified recent development in Withers’s public profile. His role here was commentary rather than participation in the channel, and there is no reliable evidence in the available reporting that he has any business relationship with Trump TV. No verified reports were found in the available results of a new television appearance, live event, corporate venture, endorsement, or major personal announcement by Withers during the past few days. There were also no confirmed reports of a new podcast, book, tour, or formal political campaign activity. Any social media posts beyond his September 22 X statement should be treated as unconfirmed unless verified through his official accounts or reputable reporting. The long term significance is that Withers continues to build recognition as a sharp, confrontational political voice whose social media commentary can move rapidly into mainstream news coverage. His latest remark places him within the continuing national debate over media access, political messaging, and government influence over television. Thank you for listening.
