Ukraine Released the Footage—Now Russia’s War Bloggers Want Answers

Operation Vivaldi’s 250 POW Claim Tests Russia’s Battlefield Credibility

Lyman Direction Setback: Why Russian Milbloggers Demand Answers on Operation Vivaldi

Putin’s Geran Drone Strategy: Can Mass Strikes Force Ukraine to Capitulate?

I examine Ukraine’s claim that its Third Army Corps captured more than 250 Russian servicemen during Operation Vivaldi in the Lyman direction, alongside reported recaptures of Novyi Ridkodub, Katerynivka, Karpivka, and Novomykhailivka. The Russian Defense Ministry had not publicly addressed the footage discussed here, but prominent Russian milbloggers—including Oleg Tsaryov and Rybar—were already asking whether Moscow’s silence was worsening a real battlefield and credibility problem.

I also look at the reported use of grenade-launcher ground robots against Russian shelters, an amphibious unmanned ground vehicle’s 40-kilometer logistics mission, and the Bessemer 1100 reconnaissance UAV. The wider contest is increasingly about affordable systems produced at scale. That matters because Putin’s strategy, as described by ISW, relies on Geran-type long-range drones to pressure Ukrainian cities and seek capitulation before spring 2027.
