Myles Kennedy, Ross Valory & Matt Sorum

Myles Kennedy joins for an in-depth conversation about his creative process and upcoming projects. He discusses his refusal to use AI in songwriting, calling it the 'great scavenger hunt' he won't give up. Kennedy reveals he's been writing for 10 weeks straight, filling his three buckets: Alter Bridge, solo work, and Slash's Conspirators. He talks about the challenge of setlists when you have a deep catalog, shares his Earth, Wind & Fire concert experience, and previews Alter Bridge's upcoming tour with Iron Maiden in South America. Following that, Ross Valory, founding member and longtime bassist of Journey, discusses his debut solo album 'All of the Above,' a collection of material written across four to five decades. The eclectic instrumental record features contributions from Miles Schon, Steve Smith, and Prairie Prince. Valory opens up about Journey's transformation from progressive rock to arena rock giants, his relationship with the band today following his departure five years ago, and what it's like hearing Journey songs everywhere he goes. To wrap up the podcast, Matt Sorum discussed the success of his charity concert at the Plaza Theater in Palm Springs, which honored rock legends Geezer Butler and Paul Rodgers. The event, benefiting his Adopt the Arts charity, featured an incredible lineup including Lzzy Hale, Corey Taylor, Glenn Hughes, Charlie Starr, Nuno Bettencourt, Phil X, and Steve Stevens. Matt shares stories from the magical night, including Paul Rodgers hinting it might be his last concert and Geezer Butler's emotional performance.
