What Are You Taking In?

What Are You Taking In?

What are you taking in, and what is it leaving behind?

We're taking in far more than food every day. Social media. Music. Conversations. Other people's moods. The energy of the spaces we're in. And while we may pay attention to what we're consuming, we don't always notice what happens inside us afterward.

In this episode, Tara and Karen explore what changes when we start noticing the emotional residue of our everyday lives. They unpack how early messages about feelings can teach us to disconnect from or distrust ourselves, why the same input can affect us differently depending on what we're already carrying, and how our emotions can offer information without necessarily telling us what to do.

They also get into Tara's tendency to perform a full emotional “autopsy” , Karen's body-based approach to noticing what she's feeling, why ordinary moments can be the best place to practice emotional awareness, and how two seemingly opposite feelings can both be true.

In this episode, we explore:

  • What we're actually “taking in” throughout the day
  • How we're taught to disconnect from or distrust our feelings
  • Why the same input can affect us differently at different times
  • The difference between noticing a feeling and analyzing it to death
  • How emotions can be information without becoming instructions

This episode is for you if you’re ready to get curious about what you’re feeling, trust what you notice, and make a little more room for whatever shows up.
