Perpetua 51: At the Threshold 03

Aloft above the sea, the Adventure Beckons and the staff of the Little Snail head towards a small island in the Valte archipelago. There, they seek information on the White Lectern from the members of the Luminaries—a group which Nicky, Elena, and Veile have found themselves newly oathed. What answers will they find in such a place? And will they meet a new ally… or someone altogether more troubling?

Some Feedback [Page 76 of 76]

It's rare that I do anything like this but I'm curious… what do you all think is behind the barrier on Nightglow Island? At this point, I've been bouncing around the world, clearing up sidequests before I head there and (presumably) finish up the first disc. And please remember, we don't talk about anything in this thread that isn't already currently covered in my guide, so if you already went there, don't give me the deets!

TheDiamondRanger

Oh, it's the white lectern. It says so in the official strategy guide. What do you want to know about it?

xXZelgadyskXx

Diamond! Nei just said not to talk about stuff from after where the guide is! He wanted guesses, not information!

TheDiamondRanger

Ohhhhhhhh. I'm sorry. I meant,

SPOILER ALERT SPOILER WARNING SPOILERS COMING UP

it's the white lectern.

DoomTreeAnne

Diamond… Please give the forum rules a read when you get a chance. We wouldn't want another regular getting banned before Unforgiven is even back!

Anyway, in this case, I'm pretty sure the conversation with Doctor Cinnabar does already mention the White Lectern. So that part isn't technically a "spoiler" anyway. But what the White Lectern actually is… now that's a whole other story.

Now, a "lectern" is a sort of standing desk that you can read from, like when you read out loud at Church. That comes from the Latin (well, from the French and then the Latin) "lego" which means "I read." Except… It doesn't only mean "I read." It originally means "I gather" or "I choose." (I guess reading is sort of like "gathering" words, though I think that's more like writing!)

Anyway, that makes me wonder. Is the White Lectern a place where someone reads or where something gets gathered and chosen?

Diamond can't read the rules because if he did, he'd see you have to be 13 before you're allowed to post here.

TheDiamondRanger

ACTUALLY I'll be 13 next tuesday!

(This user was temporarily banned for this post. They will be unbanned next Tuesday.)

Sorry, I meant that Diamond can't read the rules because he can't read.
