Dr. Paul Grant (he/him) is the Director of Research, Innovation and Practice at Center for Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy and he is an Unapologetically Black Unicorn. Dr. Grant discusses Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy and why putting a person’s life and interests ahead of their diagnosis can open new paths toward recovery. They challenge the traditional ideas of psychosis and talk about how families and providers can shift their roles from managing illness to reconnecting with the person.
