Minnesota Senate Race Surprise, Russell Brand Trial Begins, Roller Coaster Death: AM Update 10/14

New polling shows a surprisingly close Minnesota U.S. Senate race between Democrat Peggy Flanagan and Republican Michele Tafoya, with independent voters potentially playing a decisive role. Opening statements begin in Russell Brand's rape and sexual assault trial in London, where the actor and host faces seven criminal charges involving six women and maintains his innocence. Greta Thunberg finds a new movement to take on as she joins student protests in France over education funding and school conditions, as nationwide demonstrations show signs of losing momentum. Authorities identify the man killed after being ejected from a rollercoaster at Six Flags Over Georgia, prompting investigations and precautionary ride closures at other Six Flags parks.
