01 when you bet on yourself

Welcome back to another episode of thirtyish: a podcast for adults figuring their ish out. First and foremost thank you all for tuning into ep. 8 it's a man's world pt. 1&2 and sharing your feedback with us. It really moved me to read what you all thought and for some of you to share your stories with me. In this episode I wanted to introduce a new series called When You Bet On Yourself highlighting entrepreneurs of black owned businesses as well as small businesses and content creatives wanting to share their work.

This first episode highlights Sweet Hair Treats by Margaret Walker (@marg.renee/@sweethairtreats). Margaret shares with us how she's walking into her 30th birthday with a business, how to maintain your corporate job and entrepreneurial bag, how she got started, overcoming her fears, knowing that you will fail at some point with your business, what sets her brand apart and some advice for you to BET ON YOURSELF too. The motto for the When You Bet On Yourself series is "Lifting as we Climb" so with that in mind Margaret also highlights some of her favorite black owned businesses (Fun Turtle Beauty Cosmetics, MonetHaus and District613) for you all to get into as well.
