Golden Years 083 - Delayed to 2077

Welcome to Episode 83 of RPG: The Golden Years with Rich, Scott, and Jay! After catching up and going over the news, we talk about the sudden and rampant onslaught of delays in the video game industry. We examine why there are so many all at once, what it means for the industry, and what could be done better.

What have Rich, Scott, and Jay been up to?

We review the Game of the Decade Twitter tournament bracket. 2018 will be live as of this episode's release!

We have some important news on the podcast relaunch! The RPG After Years will officially revamp two weeks from now!

In the News: Horizon: Zero Dawn is headed to the PC. What does that mean for Sony and the future of cross-platform gaming?

In the News: Sony is skipping E3 AGAIN! Is it time to begin mourning E3?

Lots of Fire Emblem news: Fire Emblem: Three Houses is getting a DLC campaign, and its protagonist Byleth is being added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Lots of Pokemon news too: Pokemon Sword/Shield is getting a huge DLC expansion, a remake of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is in development, and more! Charmander ASMR?!

As always, we remind you all of what RPGs have released recently, as well as upcoming releases.

Main discussion: Final Fantasy VII Remake, Cyberpunk 2077, Marvel's Avengers, and Dyling Light 2 have all been delayed. What the heck is going on?!

Should developers be told when to release the news on games? Should they be held accountable for these mishaps? What should they do to make it up for the fans? Should developers be allowed to announce games that have not been completed by certain percentage?
