Family Fractures: Why Timothy Hudson’s Relatives Refuse to Stand Beside Him

Timothy Hudson's mother and stepfather — Anna Kepner's own father — would not allow him back in their home after the cruise where Anna was found dead. His defense team says a unique and unfortunate family dynamic has limited their access to relatives and complicated the case. The trial has been pushed back three times, now to January 2027. His lawyers told the court that one unresolved issue is preventing a plea decision. They won't say what it is. The judge has set a hard deadline: January 15th to enter a plea, or January 25th for trial. Hudson faces an alleged 24 to 30 years in a plea deal versus life if convicted. He's sixteen, charged as an adult in federal court, and his defense team acknowledges they've never represented a juvenile in this arena. Hudson is reportedly undergoing mental evaluations that could shape the defense strategy. Anna's father says the family trusts the process. The process has given them three delays, one unnamed issue, and no resolution.
