BigXthaPlug sits down on Club Shay Shay for a conversation about his rise in Texas hip-hop, losing over 100 pounds, his football background, family, fatherhood, money, and the realities of the music industry.

The multiplatinum rapper opens up about his fourth studio album, Take Care, and why his music becomes more personal with every release. BigXthaPlug discusses his weight loss journey, going from nearly 475 pounds to making major lifestyle changes through the gym, healthier eating habits, and staying active. He explains how losing weight has helped him feel better and perform onstage with more energy.

BigXthaPlug talks about embracing his confidence, performing shirtless, representing bigger men in hip-hop, and bringing his athleticism and dance moves to the stage. He also shares his favorite Dallas slang, Southern hospitality, and the Texas culture that shaped him.

Before becoming a successful rapper, BigXthaPlug played college football and grew up competing on the field. He discusses playing offensive and defensive line, his aggressive playing style, his football ambitions, and how his experiences growing up influenced his mentality. He also talks Texas football, the Houston Texans, Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns, and his love for sports.

BigXthaPlug gets candid about the music industry's fake friendships, artists collaborating for business rather than genuine relationships, and the challenges of navigating fame. He reflects on making money, supporting family members, dealing with entitlement, and learning to set boundaries with people who expect him to provide for them.

The rapper opens up about his struggles after college football didn't work out, spending time in jail, missing his son's first birthday, and promising to change his life for his children. He explains why providing for his family became a major motivation behind his music career and how he continues to support people who once gave up on him. He also shares stories about his first major purchases, including a Dodge Charger, buying a home for his son, and purchasing a Rolls-Royce during a difficult emotional period.

Shannon Sharpe and BigXthaPlug also discuss relationships, heartbreak, marriage, touring with Kevin Gates, collaborations with artists including Shaboozey, and his experience appearing in a movie alongside Glen Powell. BigXthaPlug reflects on fatherhood, mental health, fame, and staying true to himself while building his career.
