What Absalom's Rebellion Reveals About Jesus

What does King David's most humiliating moment reveal about Jesus Christ?

In this episode of Shadows to Substance, Pastor George Sayour explores the remarkable parallels between David's betrayal by his son Absalom and the humiliation, suffering, and ultimate victory of Jesus Christ.

Drawing from 2 Samuel 15–19 and the New Testament, George examines how David's rejection by his people, betrayal by a trusted adviser, journey across the Brook Kidron and Mount of Olives, and willingness to endure mockery and suffering all foreshadow Christ's path to the cross.

But the most powerful connection comes when David cries out that he wishes he could have died in Absalom's place.

While David could not save his rebellious son, Jesus Christ willingly gave His life to redeem rebellious sinners.

This episode reveals how the Old Testament points us to the greater Son of David, the King who suffered, conquered, and offers forgiveness to all who repent and believe.
