“Powers Boothe is gonna show how bad JCVD is...” - Chris on the acting legend

On this special patrons-only WHM, we’re chatting about the outrageous JCVD Die Hard knock-off, Sudden Death!

Where does this movie fall quality-wise in the JCVD filmography? In what world would the Vice President of the United States attend a professional hockey final? Was that whole opening scene actually supposed to be a monologue that JCVD just couldn’t nail? How ridiculous is it when he gets in goal? How great is Powers Boothe as the villain? Does this movie contain a very rare cinematic step-dad who’s actually a good guy? Should the script have condensed these two kids into one character? And do Zambonis really have big beer coolers on the front of them like that? PLUS: Cold popcorn delivery men? Is it too late for a career change? We’d join that union!

Sudden Death stars Jean-Claude Van Damme, Powers Boothe, Whittni Wright, Ross Malinger, Dorian Harewood, Kate McNeil, Michael Gaston, Audra Lindley, and Raymond J. Barry as the Vice President; directed by Peter Hyams.
