A year and a half into marriage, Gabrielle found out her husband had been having an affair with a nineteen-year-old for six months. She then filed for divorce and left. Two weeks later met a man, and fell madly in love. This fairy-tale romance lasted for a month and a half before he convinced Gabrielle to join him on a month long vacation in Italy. Left heartbroken and devastated, Gabrielle made the decision to go to Europe on her own, journal it, and ended up writing a bestseller “Eat, Pray, #FML”.
