The Spirit of the Law - Kosher to God - Pod for Israel

The Spirit of the Law - Kosher to God - Pod for Israel

Are you Kosher? Is Kosher what we eat? Should I mix milk and meat? What about bacon!?! We continue our series on the Spirit of the Law with what God is trying to teach us with the Kosher or Clean/Unclean commandments. Every commandment from God has a meaning, a precept to learn from, a parable teaching deeper things, and foreshadowing our Messiah's work. So what did God intend to teach us through the dietary laws, and what have we made of it today? Just as a disclaimer!! This podcast is NOT about is it ok to eat Bacon or Shrimp!!! Remember Roman's 14 and Colossians 2:16 as you guys comment! ; ) Here are all the references for the podcast: ''you shall not cook a goat in it's mother milk'' (Exodus 23:19, 34:26, Deuteronomy 14:21). The rabbis interpreted this to mean you can not eat or cook any meat together with dairy (b. Talmud, Chulin 115b). Abraham gives his guests meat and milk to eat (Genesis 18:8). The Talmud says Abraham kept Kosher and in fact, kept the Oral Law (b. Talmud, Yoma 28b). So the Midrash says Abraham guests did not actually ate, but were pretending to eat (Midrash 'BeReshit Raba'). The Bible give at least two more examples of Jew eating meat and dairy together (Deuteronomy 32:14 and 2 Sam. 17:29). Bible scholars, Prof. Moshe Kasutto and Chaim Ginsberg, explain that in context, the 3 verses from Torah that speak about cooking a calf in his mother's milk, has nothing to do with eating kosher, but speak specifically about pagan ways of sacrifices. Pod for Israel - 7 Reforms of Rabbinic Judaism #7 Atheistic revolution

Wrapping up our 7 part series on the 7 Revolutions of Rabbinic Judaism, Dr Broshi discusses the Atheistic Revolution in Rabbinic Judaism. It’s not that the Rabbinic sect denies the reality of God, but that they deny the biblical God and embrace a religion in which they don’t need God anymore. Did the Holy Spirt cease after Malachi? Is it Forbidden to say God’s name?? Pod for Israel - 7 Reforms of Rabbinic Judaism #6 Revolution in Liturgy

When the Orthodox to say they're studying Torah it's not the first 5 books of Moses, but the Rabbinic commentary on the Torah. Dr. Broshi goes deeper into the liturgical revolution of Rabbinic Judaism. Did the Torah start on the wrong chapter and verse?! Does Oral Torah fit in the story thread and flow of the bible? Dive into the differences between the Rabbinic covenant and the New Covenant of Yeshua in liturgy. Here's a few more links to some of the references mentioned in the podcast. b. Talmud, Menhot 29b (Moses is sent to Akiva's Yeshiva and does not understand a word of the Oral Law, he him self passed on to the Rabbis) https://www.sefaria.org.il/Rashi_on_Genesis.2.9?lang=en Rashi commentary on Gen. 1:1, saying the Torah should have started instead with Exodus 12:2 (Rashi just quoted another Rabbi from the Talmud). this proves that the Rabbis saw the Torah as a legal book and not as a narrative.
