How to be Happier: Get Fewer Emails.

Hey, listeners! Do you ever find yourself scrolling through your inbox and thinking, "Damn, I've got A LOT of emails"?

I don't blame you. We all have too many emails in our inboxes. And we're not gonna lie: it can be hard to get rid of the ones that are just taking up space. But here's something we do at Revel that will help you clear out your inbox and feel more organized: every so often, search your email for the word “unsubscribe” and then use it on as many as you can.

If you're like me, there might be some things in there that you don't even remember signing up for (like those emails from companies trying to sell you their product).

Companies sign you up for newsletters you never registered for a few reasons.

1. They know you're interested in their products.

Maybe you've been visiting the company's website, or maybe you bought something from them once and gave them your email address at checkout.

2. They think you'll be interested in their products. Maybe they analyzed their customers' data and found that people who like product A also tend to like product B.

3. They are trying to get as many people on their list as possible. If they can convince someone who doesn't want to be on the list to sign up anyway, then it doesn't matter if they don't actually read the newsletters—as long as they're there!

Now is the perfect time to get rid of them! You can always go back and sign up later if they were something really cool. If you want to be healthier and happier, the first place to start is with your inbox.

It's not just about the amount of time you spend on your email; it's about how much energy is required for you to wade through all those messages.

The more you get and have to deal with, the more stress you'll feel, and that can really add up over time. This isn't just a matter of time management—it's a matter of managing your mental health.

And if we're talking about managing our mental health, what could be better than getting fewer emails? It would save us time, energy, and stress… and that's all without even taking into account the fact that it would make us happier! So start today.
