Flood,Whirlwind hit Pemekasan

"The flooding was triggered by heavy rain," said Budi Cahyono, coordinator of the Quick Reaction Team (TRC) of the Pamekasan Disaster Mitigation Office (BPBD), during a visit to the flood-affected area.The BPBD, in cooperation with the local military office, deployed personnel to assist flood victims and monitor further developments, he informed.Heavy rains and whirlwinds were also reported in the sub-districts of Larangan, Kadur, Palengaan, Pegantenan and Pademawu in Pamekasan.The inclement weather conditions are likely to prevail over the next three days, said Cahyono citing a weather forecast from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG)."We have already conveyed a warning to the public regarding this matter, and it is hoped that people in disaster-prone areas will be more vigilant," he added.Thats all the new for today.Check this out at jatim.antaranews.com for the latest update.I am Laila Amalia.Thank you for watching and have a great day.
