Episode #20 - 'Veronica Mars' - 1x07, 1x08: Super Creep

ReWatchable is here for another episode! We continue our recaps of Veronica Mars in this episode, where we cover 1×07 “The Girl Next Door” and 1×08 “Like a Virgin.” Episode 1x07: "The Girl Next Door" -Marama and Karen are surprised they haven’t been spoiled yet and hate the self-control they have to endure. -Did we like the episode? -Do we like Lilly? -What will it take for Logan to get back into Marama’s good graces? -Marama pauses for an observation of the fashion on the show. -We talk about the Mortal Instruments plot line. -Are they setting up Veronica and Duncan or Veronica and Logan? -When a plot seems so obvious, does that mean it’s totally out of the window in terms of plausibility? -We talk about how it’s interesting Veronica is so suspicious of men and yet has an excellent relationship with her father. -Do we think Lilly was in love with (or at least cared about) Weevil? -Gabrielle tries to convince us she’s not just here for Logan. Episode 1x08: "Like a Virgin" -Did we like episode 1x08 better than 1x07? -How do we feel about Meg and Mac? Do we think they’ll be back? -Did they address the slut-shaming enough? -Do we think what Mac did was ethical? -What do we think about Abel Koontz? -Crazy newbie theories time! -Who do Marama and Karen think killed Lilly? -Do we like Keith and Veronica’s relationship? -It’s Wallace appreciation time. -Do we want Wallace and Veronica’s relationship to stay platonic? Episode #19 - 'Veronica Mars' - 1x05, 1x06: His Name is Dick

Episode #19 - 'Veronica Mars' - 1x05, 1x06: His Name is Dick

ReWatchable is here for another episode! We continue our recaps of Veronica Mars in this episode, where we cover 1×05 “You Think You Know Somebody” and 1×06 “Return of the Kane.” Episode 1x05: "You Think You Know Somebody" -Mitch thinks he’s a half-psychic. -Did Karen think Troy was shady from the beginning? -More ‘no comments’ from Danielle. -Does Veronica need a guy? -Was dating Troy out of character? -Did Troy really not expect Veronica to catch him? -Should Veronica have opened the envelope? -Did you guys catch that the Postal Service song played twice? -When Karen says “Irish voice,” she totally meant “Russian voice.” -Danielle admits that at one point during the last episode of ReWatchable, she wasn’t listening to Mitch at all. (Karen can relate.) -We are hella suspicious of Mrs. Kane. -Is Mr. Kane looking out for Duncan or is he being too controlling? -Was it selfish of Veronica to show her father that information about the guidance counselor? -Sometimes we forget Veronica is still a kid. -We love Backup! (And we make a Teen Wolf and a Lost reference.) -[Insert Karen’s apology for her complete lack of knowledge about baseball.] -Veronica has no time for subtlety. -Karen convinces Mitch of a new ship. -Who wants some salt water taffy? Episode 1x06: "Return of the Kane" -Karen makes a painfully embarrassing admission. Please don’t judge her. -We love Duncan Kane. -Mitch does an impression of Wanda. -We have some movie recommendations. -What was Wanda’s purpose? -Danielle and Karen bond over a Mary Kate and Ashley movie (it's totally relevant). -Will we see Sue Sylvester Jane Lynch again? -Karen has a lot of feelings about Logan, okay? -Why did Logan set up the homeless boxing ring? -Did Logan give his father’s money away as an act of rebellion or was it altruistic? -What exactly do we think about Logan’s father? -So…that belt scene. -Does Logan think he needs to be punished by his father? -Are we meant to honestly believe that Abel Koontz murdered Lilly? Episode #18 - 'Veronica Mars' - 1x03, 1x04: Kristen Tweeted Us

Episode #18 - 'Veronica Mars' - 1x03, 1x04: Kristen Tweeted Us

ReWatchable is here for another episode! We continue our recaps of Veronica Mars in this episode, where we cover 1×03 “Meet John Smith” and 1×04 “The Wrath of Con.” Shownotes: -We promise that we're not sponsored by Warner Brothers. -Mitch and Ariana bash on Veronica Mars for their unrealistic driving. -The transgendered storyline was handled extremley well for an early 2000s show. -Veronica's scene with her mother's friend was some of the best acting we've seen on the show so far. -So what in the world is Veronica's mother up to? -Mitch asks some important logistic questions, like about who is belived to be Lilly's killer at this point? -Ariana makes a breakthrough comparison to Kim Possible. -Troy's continuing to be sketchy AND he's not on the DVD box, further incriminating him. -Veronica's voiceovers worked well for the pilot, but they're slowly starting to die down as we get to know her a bit more. -We compare Veronica Mars to Aaron Sorkin's writing in that we always care for characters. -Duncan's relaxed attitude as he went off his meds for a while on 1x03 was really fun. -The Lilly hallucination was eerie, but revealed just the right amount of her personality. Why was Duncan seeing her at all? -We were really excited that the voice of Penny Proud from The Proud Family, Kyla Pratt, played Georgia in 1x04. -Veronica's multiple personas in this episode made this one of the best episodes of the show ever, according to our super fan. -Lilly is the anti-"beautiful corpse," which Ariana explains from an English major's viewpoint. -We really liked the Lilly flashbacks, because they showed that she wasn't the good girl that the memorial tried to show. -We loved Gamergirl as a personality so much! Episode #17 - 'Veronica Mars' - 1x01, 1x02: Love and Hugs

Episode #17 - 'Veronica Mars' - 1x01, 1x02: Love and Hugs

ReWatchable is here for another episode! We're starting our recaps of Veronica Mars in this episode, where we cover 1x01 "Pilot" and 1x02 "Credit Where Credit is Due." Shownotes: -We discuss the intricacies of the pilot, and how Veronica's hair and outfits define new scenes and different periods of time. -The intro song "We Used to Be Friends" has a great ironic tone for Veronica Mars. -We rediscuss our Pretty Little Liars comparisons. -The pilot worked great as a story independent of the show itself. -Is Veronica a likable lead? Can we forgive her for her lying, stealing, and cheating? -Duncan came off as a token brooding teen in the pilot, but thankfully, there's more to him than meets the eye. -Is Veronica's dad a good parent? Where should he draw lines for her allowances? -Almost all of us love Logan. What were his motives behind smashing Veronica's headlights? -Wallace's hair is full of love and hugs. -Weevil is a likable bad guy, who's very witty for a biker gang member. -The gang violence in the show can be disturbing, showing that Veronica Mars will go there. -Who's Veronica's rapist? Heavy accusations are made against Troy. -While going through 1x01 favorite lines, Mitch realizes that Mars fits into the word marshmallow. -The class differences that are bridged in 1x02 are very relieving and mostly unheard of in television. -The importance of family is something tackled in 1x02, with Weevil's humanity put on the line during the gang beatup scene. -Paris Hilton was in 1x02, and played a rich girl — imagine that! She was good for what they needed her for, but it's unlikely that we'll see characters like her again. -Duncan's mother overacts to everything involving Duncan, but the superfans swear that it's for good reason. -Pretty Little Liars was the egg to Veronica Mars' chicken. -We discuss some pretty amazing pilot facts. Bonus: Listen in at 1:37:00 to hear Danielle's awesome Veronica Mars impression! Contact us! Email: rewatchable.podcast@gmail.com Twitter: @Re_Watchable Or in the comments below. Episode #15 - 'Firefly' - 'Serenity'

Episode #15 - 'Firefly' - 'Serenity'

ReWatchable is here for another episode! This week we discuss Serenity, the followup movie to Firefly. Shownotes: -We’re all a little sleep deprived. Enjoy. -Reaction from the newbies. -Selina tells us how she was spoiled about a certain character’s death. -Caitlin has an issue regarding Simon and Mal’s relationship. -No, but really. WHO’S BRIGHT IDEA WAS IT TO WATCH THIS MOVIE? Karen was in agony. -What did we think about the Operative? -We loved the Reavers being back, but what’s up with the magic caulking gun? -River’s fight scene was beautiful. -Firefly has traditional Western parallels right until the last. -Why did Simon and River have to leave the ship if they were just going to get right back on it again? -Does River’s escape from the Alliance really match up to what we know about it according to the show? -What do you mean this isn’t Simon Cast? -Mr. Universe. Worst name ever? -Also, a love bot? Really? -We interrupt your regularly scheduled program with Hairspray! -Was the mystery of Book just a little too confusing? And why didn’t we get any answers about him!? -We got a Simon and Kaylee payoff, but what about Mal and Inara? -Was the move with the Reavers surprising or obvious? -We don’t want to, but we have to. Next we talk about someone’s death. Yes, that someone. -Caitlin has a big problem with it. Was it necessary? -Did we think River was going to make it through the final battle? -Was the turnaround with the Operative a little too convenient? -We have several ‘moments’ at the end of the movie. Which one was our favorite? -Laura tells us why Zoe was wearing that dress and ruins us all. -Will there be more Firefly in the future? -Favorite quotes and scenes -Laura shares some “fun” facts. (Read: soul-crushing) -We have a giveaway! -Up next: Veronica Mars What did you think about Serenity. Watch out for a new episode of ReWatchable in the near future. Episode #14 - 'Firefly' - 1x14 'Objects in Space'

Episode #14 - 'Firefly' - 1x14 'Objects in Space'

ReWatchable is here for another episode! This week we discuss the 14th episode of Firefly, “Objects in Space.” Don’t forget that this podcast is spoiler-free, featuring both Firefly fans and newbies. So it’s safe for everyone to listen! Shownotes: -Initial noob reactions: This episode is a good singular episode, but not a good finale. -How did we react to the crew's response to River? -Kyle still thinks Book is EVILLLL. -If the bounty hunter never came on, would they still be thinking of ways to get rid of River? Talk about expected and weird. -The threats that Jubil imposes on Kaylee were unnecessary. We hate him. -Shirtless Simon (Kyle fangirls on the inside) -Jubil takes everyone out pretty easily! -We love everyone's reactions to River "melting" into Serenity. -Did Jubil really have to hit Inara? Seemed almost unprovoked. -We love how he exits Serenity the way he came in, but is followed by Mal, who pushes Hurley off into deep space without a tether. -What did we think of the scene with River floating back to Mal? -If Jubil was a bounty hunter, why was he only after River? -Favorite scenes and lines. -Fun fact: Jubil Early was named after a confederate general, and modeled after a Star Wars Character! -Kyle confuses Star Wars for Pokémon. -Feedback How did you like "Objects In Space"? How did you feel the finale? Comment on this post, email us at rewatchable.podcast@gmail.com, or tweet us @Re_Watchable, and your comment could be read on air! Episode #13 - 'Firefly' - 1x13 'Heart of Gold'

Episode #13 - 'Firefly' - 1x13 'Heart of Gold'

ReWatchable is here for another episode! This week we discuss the twelfth episode of Firefly, “Heart of Gold.” Don’t forget that this podcast is spoiler-free, featuring both Firefly fans and newbies. So it’s safe for everyone to listen! Shownotes: -Kristen's first impression. Laura likes it better in the re-watch than previously. First thought was: Horses and hovercrafts, what a perfect example of exactly what makes Firefly... Firefly. -The foil house was...interesting. -Was it jarring hearing Inara say the word whore? -We love how everyone has their own role to do and the excel at it! -How is Burgess' wife alright with the whole baby from a whore thing?! -Zoe wants the baby instead of Wash wanting it, we thought it'd be backwards. But we love it! -Why did Mal sleep with Nandy? -Super awkward Inara and Mal confrontation in the morning! -Did Inara’s crying break anyone else’s heart? -Kaylee and Wash's plan totally failed, but we loved it. -Mandy's death was a great way of showing that in battle people die randomly and don't get last words. -Burgess was all about the baby and then he runs away without it. Hmph... -The baby's mother completely changed from the beginning to end of the episode. The kill shot was unexpected! -The final Inara and Mal scene... yeah. Feels! -Did we see her departure coming? -Favorite scenes and lines. -Fun facts. -Feedback. How did you like "Heart of Gold"? How did you feel about Tracey by the end of the episode? Comment on this post, email us at rewatchable.podcast@gmail.com, or tweet us @Re_Watchable, and your comment could be read on air!
