Prepare to drift away to sleep, And let go of what doesn’t matter.   PAUSE… Focus instead on the beauty inside, On the splendor at your core. For you are as lovely as a flower, A bud in bloom forevermore.   PAUSE… You may not see yourself that way, Perhaps you doubt yourself ever so often. But you are gorgeous, vibrant, and lush, Magnificent and uncommon.   PAUSE… So pick out the flower you’d like to be, The one that speaks to your soul. Whether tulip or peony or classic rose, Its stunning image makes you feel whole.   PAUSE… Once you land on the perfect choice, Let your mind drift to the color. You might see pink, or yellow, or even deep blue, With fragrant petals like none other.   PAUSE… Soft and lovely and gently aflutter, Their grace makes others stare. For it’s hard to let a flower go, When its beauty is so rare.   PAUSE… Flowers make us pause and gape, Make us long to stay in their presence. In that way, you’re a flower as well, Enchanting others with your essence.   LONG PAUSE… Flowers don’t just dazzle the eye, They pull us in with their scent. Sink deeper into this fantastic journey, And imagine the aroma you present.   PAUSE… Does your essence smell like lilies, Like violets or lilacs or gardenia? Or maybe you’re more like jasmine or amber, With the freshness of lemon verbena.   PAUSE… Maybe you’re spicy at your core, Or perhaps soft and powdery. What makes others draw closer to you? What rewards their curiosity?    PAUSE… Think of how a flower grows, From seed to sprout to bloom. How pure and sweet is that process, No matter what difficulties loom.   PAUSE… In life, our growth is both duty and choice, We master it while living at its mercy. As flowers must weather both drought and cold, There are always obstacles to our journey. PAUSE… But troubles don’t make us disappear, Nor do they change our being. Instead, they make us stronger and more dazzling, And the struggle is beautifully revealing.   PAUSE… Flowers are sometimes seen as fragile, Like delicate, tentative gifts. But within the flower, a different truth shines, One that knows to welcome conflicts.   PAUSE… Your spirit understands that truth. It expects the difficulties to appear. And like the flower, it uses them, To expand and persevere. PAUSE… With each successive year of growth, The method finds its focus. So when it’s time for blooming season, Our beauty reveals what history has shown us. LONG PAUSE… Whether we fight these visions or they come easily, The growth cycle happens either way. This blossoming is part of you, Unfolding bit by bit each day.   PAUSE… Though you needn’t acknowledge the flower, For the reality to exist, Why not give yourself the pleasure, Why not admit that your beauty persists?   PAUSE… You’re as much a part of nature, As the flowers, birds, and trees. You have a role, on earth and in life, And you perform it instinctively.   PAUSE… Like anything we try to do, Close attention yields better results. Ride the waves in, And out, As your awareness invites you to slow down.  PAUSE… Breathe in, Breathe out. In, Out.  LONG PAUSE… As thoughts arise,  As tasks pop up, As visions paint themselves in your mind, See if you can bring your attention, Back to your breath, Allowing all those things in your head, To dissolve.  LONG PAUSE… Now see if you can imagine, The soft glow of blue, Hovering just above your chest.  PAUSE… The warm glow beats softly, With the rhythm of your heart.   PAUSE… Take a big, deep breath in now, Feeling the expansion of your chest and belly, And watching as the blue glow grows too.  PAUSE… Hold the air in for just a moment… And then exhale,  Releasing it all out,  And feeling your body contract.  PAUSE… Now ease into a gentle rhythm of breathing again, Letting the waves of your breath calm you, Relax you, Comfort you.  LONG PAUSE… Feel the warmth of the blue light, Above your chest.  And as you breathe, Feel it spread out into your right arm, All the way to your hand and fingers. Softening you. PAUSE… And then feel the warm blue glow, Spread down into your left arm, All the way down to your hand, And into your fingers.  Relaxing you. LONG PAUSE… Imagine the blue light traveling slowly down your back, From the top of your neck, Down,  Down, Down,  Covering and softening your lower back.  LONG PAUSE… The gentle blue glow now hovers over your stomach, Falls down your hips, Down your left leg, And then your right.  Warming you, Calming you. LONG PAUSE… One with the rhythm of your breath,  The blue light ascends up through your chest,  Rising up your neck,  Softening your face, And covering the crown of your head. To let go of control of that which is making your mind spin, So you can surrender to the deep sleep that is here.  Come,  Into your body, And out of your head.  Away from the racing thoughts and storm clouds of worry, And into the slow, undulating waves of your breath. In and out. Cool and warm. Expanding and releasing.  Breathe… PAUSE… It’s all going to be okay. Here in this moment, you have no control over that which you desperately want. A specific outcome, Another person’s actions, Mother Nature. There is no amount of worrying or thinking that will change this moment. So surrender your desires to the stillness of the night, And trust in her and the wisdom of the universe. PAUSE… Inhale to touch the stillness,  Exhale to release control.  Breathe in, Breathe out. PAUSE… Unwind the tension in your body, Setting free all the tight parts so they can sink even further into your bed. PAUSE... Stress lives in the dark, Love is in the light.  So invite every cell in your body to shift from control to faith, From worry to hope, From dark to light. PAUSE… Be here in the light, Bathing in the soft yellow blankets of hope. Let them soothe you as you dream of possibilities,  And whisper your prayers to the Universe. And then let go, You have no more control right now. PAUSE… So feel your body melt further into your bed, And your mind hum with spaciousness. No more thinking. No more doing.  Just being,  One with love. You can corral them with reason. You can keep them at bay, With the movement of the day. PAUSE… But when the night comes,  When you’ve slowed yourself down, The seeds of fear, Grow in your mind, And in your body. PAUSE… Fear arises within your belly, Slowly at first. Little bubbles of discomfort. But as it takes over your mind, Boulders of fear lay upon your chest, Freezing you, And weighing you down.  LONG PAUSE… Bring your hand to your chest, sweet one, And touch the fear that’s here. PAUSE… Let the warmth from your hand, Move through the rock, And pass through it easily, Knowing what’s beneath.  PAUSE… Your hand can feel the vibrations, Of what’s underneath the fear.  PAUSE… The determination arises, As your chest expands to breathe.   PAUSE… You can feel the stability, Of your reliable heartbeat.  PAUSE… You can feel the promise, Of each new breath.   PAUSE… Fear can be here, It doesn’t have to take over. It doesn’t have to blind. It doesn’t have to stay. PAUSE… You are stronger than your fears. LONG PAUSE… Breathe deeply now,  Inviting the fresh air to come inside,  And clear what’s here. And as you breathe out,  Feel your body soften and relax. Another deep breath in, Even bigger than before, Gathering up the heaviness, The thoughts, And then releasing it,  Melting yourself even further.  PAUSE… Slow your breathing into a gentle rhythm, Coming in deep into your body. PAUSE… Letting the waves of air calm you, Relax you. LONG PAUSE… It may be tempting to look away, And avoid the boulders of fear. PAUSE… It may be tempting to succumb to them,  Handing them to your mind, And unleashing their demons,  PAUSE… But if you slow down, And take an honest look at what’s here, If you can ask fear what it wants.  The heaviness begins to dissolve, And the boulders begin to crumble.  LONG PAUSE… Listen for the voice, That tells you it’s fine. That everything will be okay. LONG PAUSE And as you shift your focus, allow yourself to just let go. Let go of any distracting thoughts and stuff them in a basket so you can stay in the present. LONG PAUSE Now, embrace yourself with gentleness and self-love  as you continue quieting the mind and letting go, So there’s nothing but you in this moment LONG PAUSE Now, imagine being carried to Italy, to the magnificent Tuscan countryside not far from the art and beauty of Florence. PAUSE As you land in the breathtaking land, you notice green, rolling hills  that flow across the countryside like a sheet gently blowing in a breeze. PAUSE And as your eye travels  over the land,  you are taken in by a symphony of wonders to your senses. PAUSE You breathe in the fresh air, and with it the subtle woody scent of olive trees blooming in the distance. PAUSE As your eye catches sight of the trees, the beauty of the tiny white blossoms moves you, making a spiritual connection to you and the stunning countryside. PAUSE You draw in another breath rich with the fragrance of grapes on the vine. The honey scent lulls you  into a state of deep calm. PAUSE After a few minutes,  your ears are treated  to the delightful sound  of a bird singing. PAUSE Moments later,  other birds begin chirping, letting their songs ring through the countryside. PAUSE As you walk through the hills, a brown rabbit hops before you on the path. He pauses, looks cautiously at you and then hops along. PAUSE Then, your eye catches  a number of stone towers guarding the countryside, old towers built by medieval nobles for protection. PAUSE As you approach one of the towers, you feel its ancestors welcoming you and its protective energies building a fortress around you. PAUSE Along your walk, you notice an area  where the sounds of bubbles call out to you. You follow the call  to a natural mineral spring. PAUSE Gingerly, you step over  the stones leading  the gently bubbling spring until you can dip your feet iInto the healing waters. PAUSE The air is moist with hints of sulphur from the spring  and the sweetness of grapes from a nearby winery. And the sound of the spring gently burbling relaxes you. PAUSE A velvety breeze brushes against your cheeks while the warm Tuscan sun alights on your face. PAUSE After the mineral bath,  you decide to visit the winery nearby, and are awed by the  array of chianti flavors dancing on your tongue. PAUSE There are woody and dried fruit flavors tickling your palate, along with smoky and herbal tastes, all blended into delicious elixirs. PAUSE The winery offers lodging, so you decide to stay the night and are treated to a feast of breads and olive oils, wines, sharp cheeses, pasta rich with tomatoey flavors, and chocolate, smooth and luxurious. PAUSE Before bed, you stretch out on a chair in the garden, watching Italy’s golden sun drop below the horizon, and seeing a silver full moon bathe the countryside in light.  PAUSE The moon rises high and large in the sky, casting its light across the rolling hills, vineyards and olive trees, painting a picture  more beautiful than any art.. PAUSE And as the Tuscan night  unfolds around you, you close your eyes and let the magic of Tuscany flourish within you and your dreams. Let the relaxation spread, And lead you to sleep. LONG PAUSE And while your body lets go, And your mind sails free, You’re ready for what’s next, happily. LONG PAUSE So breathe in once more, And feel grateful inside, For the peace spreading through you, And this time to unwind. LONG PAUSE Now, sometimes we’re filled, With nagging self-doubt. We don’t honor our worth, or know what it’s about. PAUSE So, it’s time to connect, With that deep part of you, Where self-doubt is buried And you want to get through. PAUSE Let your shoulders release, And your mind just go; Bring your awareness to your heart, To heal energy that won’t flow. PAUSE Take a minute and feel, Your heart rhythm beating, The more you attend to it, The more you hear what it's speaking. PAUSE Now, imagine your heart, Under lock and key, That wants you to open it, And let it beat free. PAUSE When your heart has a lock, It can hide secret feelings, The kind you may avoid, But that can change with healing. PAUSE So imagine a wand, Filled with pure white light, That passes over the heart, And heals with insight.  PAUSE Imagine that you can see, All the old hurts, As they transform from the light, And then move in reverse. PAUSE So instead of causing pain, That you don’t want to face, They now build up your strength, And fill you with grace. PAUSE After healing your heart, The wand moves to your mind, Where thoughts of self doubt originate, And impact you over time. PAUSE And across your forehead, With the first pass of the wand, Stressful thoughts dissolve; They are completely gone. PAUSE A second pass stops, Right at the third eye, Healing you deeply, Both out and inside. PAUSE And the wand pulls the dark thoughts, Out of the you and the air, Changing them to light, And making them disappear. PAUSE Then the wand passes over, Both of your ears, And transforms the negative words, That you might hear. PAUSE The last pass the wand makes, Is at the chakra of your crown, Where it clears a pathway for energy Before it sets down.  PAUSE And the wand rests on the bed, Just for a minute, Then dissolves into mist;  Its work is finished. PAUSE And the work of the wand, On your heart and mind, Is intriguing to think about, Because they’re both entwined. PAUSE So take care about the words, You say to yourself, And breathe in calmness, You’re cleansed of self doubt. PAUSE And with heart and mind at peace, You know you can rest,  Let you body sink into your bed, And know that you are blessed.
