In February of 2022 I released the very first episode of The Video Editing Podcast. Little did I know the kind of impact it would have on video editors across the globe. Before that I’d posted tutorials on Instagram, but that account was taken down without explanation. In 2020 I launched the YouTube channel sharing creative editing tutorials, but catering to the algorithm and not the human just didn’t align with my values. After a few months of starting the podcast earlier this year, it became clear that there was an audience for it, and I knew that I had to keep going if I wanted to help.

This podcast has been a journey for me personally as I found my voice. If you listen to all the episodes back-to-back you will hear how my confidence and my voice grows. I was nervous when I started and would write out a TON of notes to help me know what to talk about. And you could hear when I got lost. Now, nearly a year later I have almost zero notes, and everything is so much better for it.

As we wrap up 2022, I just want to reflect and say thanks. To you.

There have been times where I’ve struggled to be consistent, but I did move country and get married, so it was difficult. My goal for the podcast in 2023 is to stay consistent and release an episode every week.

This last year has been pivotal in building Unsplice and Unsplice Pro into the ultimate tool for building a successful video editing career. It’s taken on a new shape which fits perfectly and is an incredibly exciting time in the journey of Unsplice. In 2023 I can’t wait to hear your thoughts about what it should become and to put those thoughts into action.
