On Wednesday May 21st 1986, 72 year old Georgina, or Jean as she was known to her friends, did not turn up for her shift as a nurse in Broughton in Salford. She had retired 18 months previously but still had patients who she treated and visited regularly. When her boss could not get in touch with her, she went out to her home to find that the pane of her window was broken. The police were quickly called and they discovered Jean's body in the her bedroom. It was initially thought she had died from natural causes however it became apparent that she was the victim of murder. Police discovered a very quiet lady with a very private life and set about trying to find out what happened.
