In January of 1977, 56 year old Annie Walsh was found murdered in her flat at Hulme Crescents in Manchester. She was an unlikely victim and police were initially unsure of who could have committed such a murder. This is the first of these missing person episodes!On the 25th of June 1997, 45 year old Ann Myring left her job at Hewlett Packard close to her home in Stoke Gifford, South Gloucestershire. She returned home but the next day her two sons heard that she had gone to visit a health farm for the weekend. On Monday they then heard that she had left their Dad and that she was missing. Ann never returned and she hasn't been seen since. On the 5th of November 1988, 74 year old Harry Howell was seen out and about in the town of Blackpool where he lived. Harry was sociable, loved to put on a bet and go for a pint but he was also a creature of habit and enjoyed his usual routine. It was thought that he had gone home that night as usual nothing out of the ordinary had happened. Around 2 weeks later though his battered body was found in his flat. He had been murdered and everyone now looked at that day, the 5th of November, a little differently. On the 24th of November 1980, the body of 19 year old Jenny Ronaldson was recovered from the River Thames close to the area of the Isle of Dogs close to what is now Canary Wharf. Jenny was a devoted and reliable nurse who worked at Guys hospital who told her colleagues on the 26th of October that she was going sightseeing to Petticoat Lane Market in Spitalfields after her shift. They never saw her again. On Friday the 12th of May 1978, a fire was noted at a garage in Small Heath in Birmingham. When fire crews arrived and put out the fire, they discovered a gruesome scene. They found a man lay under a van and he had a gunshot to his face. This man was found to be Bill Simpson who owned the garage. This was a murder scene but the police could find no motive for anyone to murder this hard working family man. Bill's murder is still unsolved today. On the 25th of March 1993, 47 year old Jean Bradley headed back from her job on New Bond Street in London to Acton on the tube. Jean parked her BMW on Carberry Avenue and when she got back to her car she always drove back home to her home in Berkshire. That night she arrived back in Acton at around 7:20pm but when she got to her car she was attacked from behind by an unknown man. Her attack was witnessed by people in the street and a long mile and a half chase through the streets by a passerby ensued. On the 21st of September 1980, Kevin Dundon was on board the Viking Viscount ferry on its way back from Zeebrugge in Belgium. He had been on board ships for several years at this point and his employment as a galley hand wasn't odd or unusual. What happened next however was; Kevin disappeared off the Viking Viscount and has never been seen since. Where is he and what happened to him? On the 14th of January 1996, a fire was reported at Burley Train station close to Leeds. When emergency services arrived it was found that it was a woman's body that had been set alight. The woman was 20 year old Deborah Wood who had been missing since she was last seen on the 4th of January in Leeds city centre. There were many odd features about this murder and some links that would later become apparent. Deborah's murder is still unsolved and her family need answers.
