In 1979, Martin Allen was 15 years old and travelling to stay at his brother's house in the Holloway area of London. He regularly did this and travelled on the Underground every day to school however this day was different. He did not return and his family have been left with no answers to what happened to him.

On Saturday 8th October 1932, a boy named Robin Huber approached a cottage in Cutt Mill in Surrey. He was looking for some odd jobs to do to make a bit of extra money. He entered the home and found an awful scene that he had not been expecting. He found the body of a woman who had been beaten around the head and had severe injuries to her neck. The woman was Annie Keen and it was not long before the body of her husband was also found. He was not found in the house however he was found in the pond close to the home. What had happened here? On the 23rd October 1979, a woman had been out horse riding along one of the trails in Bedgebury Forest in Kent. This had been a normal day until she spotted something unusual in the undergrowth at the side of the trail. Looking closer the woman quickly discovered it was the body of a woman. The woman had been beaten to death and left by the side of the path. The police cordoned off the scene and began to investigate however they quickly realised that without any identification or witnesses they did not know who the woman was. On the 6th March 1952, Lily Volpert was working in her shop on Bute Street in Cardiff. She owned the shop and frequently opened the shop at night for her customers. Around 8pm William Archbold entered the shop and found Lily in a pool of blood at the door. She had significant injuries to her neck and she was later pronounced dead. The police began an investigation which would lead to the trial of a man named Mahmoud Mattan. On the 24th May 1957, Emanuel Akinyemi at Gloucester Road tube station heard footsteps and some scuffling on the emergency stairs at the station. Next he heard a woman shout "Bandit!" On the 29th December 1969, Alick McKay returned home from work to his house in Wimbledon, London to discover that his wife was not at home. This was unusual as he was expecting her to be home and she hadn't mentioned that she was going out anywhere. The fire was on, the lights were on and the contents of her handbag were strewn all around the stairs. Alick phoned the police and as an executive at The Sun and News of the World newspapers he was able to get his wife's disappearance on the next day's front page. When she had still not returned he was worried and he received a phone call. The call came from a man saying "We are Mafia M3\. We are from America. We tried to get Rupert Murdoch's wife. We couldn't get her so we took yours instead. On the 4th December 1979, Teresa De Simone went out to a nightclub with her friend. She went back to her car but did not return home that evening. The next day her body was found on the back seat of her car; she had been murdered. An investigation began and police would interview around 30 000 people. They eventually arrested a man named Sean Hodgson who had confessed to the crime.
