On the 6th of July 1984, Bill Hodge dropped his wife Marion off at the Whitesands bus station near Lockerbie in Scotland. She never returned home and nobody has seen her since. None of her bank accounts have been touched in the years since she disappeared and the reason for her disappearance is unknown. She left on her son's 15th birthday and her family know she would never have done this. Police have since changed her missing person case to a murder investigation. On the 28th of February 1979, Joe Gallagher and Frieda Hunter were discovered in a pool of blood in their bed in their home at 3 Hallbottom Street in Hyde, Greater Manchester. One of Joe's colleagues had entered the home through a downstairs broken window and discovered the couple. Joe and Frieda's lives were analysed thoroughly by the police and in the press which caused the family even more distress. The murders are still unsolved. On the 28th of September 1939, 4 year old Joyce Cox was walking home from Whitchurch Infants School in Whitchurch, Cardiff with her cousin and older brother Dennis. Somewhere along the few minute journey, Joyce disappeared and her family couldn't find her anywhere. Her body was later found and it was discovered that she had been strangled. On the 30th of October 1969, Helen Puttock headed out to the Barrowland Ballroom with her sister Jeannie. The pair loved dancing and while Helen's husband George could look after their two sons, the sisters made the most of a night out together. Jeannie travelled back with her sister in a taxi along with another man they had met while they were out. She got out of the taxi and Helen went on to her house. She never arrived. Her body was found in a back yard close to her home. She had been murdered. The Barrowland Ballroom connected all of these murders and so a huge investigation was launched. When Jeannie told them that the man they had met that night was called John and he quoted the bible, a new name for the suspect was born.
