On the 5th of November 1988, Father of 3 Derek Brann headed out for his shift as a taxi driver in Folkestone, Kent. He had been doing the job for 6 weeks to earn some extra money for his family. On the 18th of January 1954, 44 year old Mother of two Penelope Mogano was found murdered in her own home in Coventry by her husband and son. Her injuries were extensive and the perpetrator had exerted a huge amount of force in the attack. The window of when this could have happened was at most 2 hours and no one could think of any reason why someone would have wanted to kill Penelope. She was well liked and had no enemies. Theories swirled including a scam artist, a random maniac or even her husband. Penelope's case is sadly still unsolved. On Friday the 23rd of September 2016, 23 year old airman Corrie McKeague went out with two of his friends to the town of Bury St Edmunds. He was stationed at RAF Honington airbase and was planning on going out for some drinks and having a good time. Corrie was told to leave Flex nightclub that night and became separated from his friends. He went to a local takeaway and had a nap for a few hours outside a local shop. He was last spotted on CCTV heading into an area called the Horseshoe where several bins were located. Corrie never left this area and wasn't spotted on CCTV again. On the 25th of March 1990, two men in a boat on the River Cam in Cambridgeshire spotted a black plastic bag floating down the river. They went to get a closer look and found the horrifying sight of a decomposing male body inside. Dental records identified the victim as 44 year old Ian Murray Erskine who had been missing from his Notting Hill home since the previous December. Kyle Clarke was just 27 when he was killed on the night of January 10th 2017. He had been getting petrol at a petrol station in Bristol when an altercation occurred between him and a garage worker. Kyle was tragically ran over on the forecourt by the passenger in the car and died at the scene. The circumstances however of what truly occurred that night are very different to this initial account and cast doubt on whether 'a citizens arrest' was really the reason behind what happened. For this episode I spoke to Jen Jarvie who is working with Kyle's Mum Helen to raise awareness of Kyle's case and to get him the proper justice he deserves. Jen also tells us about the awful attack on Helen that shaped Kyle's childhood.
