Madeline admits that she is pickier when getting into male friendships and as a result, tends to have healthier relationships with male friends. With women, however, Madeline tends to take a “the more, the merrier” approach, which does not always lead to the healthiest of female friendships.

Madeline also explores the theme of jealousy in her intimate relationships. She has found that there are different boundaries with friendships when it comes to straight vs. bisexual relationships. Madeline reveals that she feels uncomfortable with partners that don’t let each other see their friends out of jealousy and shares the ways in which she has navigated these situations with previous partners of hers.
