Florida to Crack Down on Homeless Camping

The Florida Legislature passed a bill to crack down on homeless encampments and public camping. Save that mess for California! I’m Tomi Lahren, more next. If you’ve been in California recently, you know tent cities and sprawling homeless encampments are basically an accepted lifestyle and the norm but that kind of thing won’t fly in Florida! The Florida Legislature recently passed a bill to crack down on public camping and sleeping. The bill prevents counties and municipalities in Florida from allowing or authorizing public sleeping or public camping on public property, public buildings or public rights-of-way without a lawfully issued temporary permit. This will go a long way to ensure the safety of the public as well as the safety of the homeless population. If a locality wants to set up a homeless sleeping zone, it must abide by strict standards that include strict rules on drug use and outline sanitation guidelines. It’s a good thing Florida is getting ahead of this issue. Just look at California for a cautionary tale! Homelessness is a growing issue that should not be dealt with via tent cities and lawless free-for-alls!
