#27: “In Defense of Thelemites” with Maevius Lynn

Happy Venus Day in Taurus season, witches! In this week’s episode we’re celebrating the season with Thelemite, teacher, and Taurus Maevius Lynn. The conversation begins with Lynn sharing how her school library, philosophy books, and political activism play in her journey into occultism, and specifically Aleister Crowley’s religious, spiritual, and philosophical system of Thelema. Gabriela asks Lynn about the common misconception people have about Crowley and his magick, and what she wishes people kept in mind when discussing the “Wickedest Man in the World”- namely nuance and context. Lynn shares about the often unacknowledged fact of Crowley’s queerness and how this plays into the inclusivity of Thelemites in the modern age.
