On today's episode I'm chatting with Zehra Allibhai. Zehra is a personal trainer and the founder of the blog, The FitNest, an online platform through which she shares workout and nutrition information. She’s a mom of two, so she knows what it’s like to have a busy schedule, which is why she creates workouts which are quick, efficient, and realistic. One more thing about Zehra: she wears the hijab, something that is quite uncommon in the fitness space.

Today’s conversation gets into how Zehra is breaking norms in the fitness space by wearing the hijab. We talk about Zehra functioning as a role model for other hijabi women or visible minority groups and she walks us through some of the challenges she’s faced and how to deal with negativity. And of course, we get into the nitty-gritty of fitness. There's a bunch of useful tips for those of you who struggle with balancing fitness with the rest of life. Since Zehra is a mom of two, she shares fitness tips for new mothers and quick and easy workouts (like tabata) for those of you who can only spare 15 or 20 minutes. We also talk nutrition, including quick and easy breakfast ideas (you won’t want to miss this part).
