Episode 31 - Wednesday, July 19, 1978

A tremendous letdown after yesterday's monumental offering, this is probably a strip that might have been considered funny back in the 70s. I mean, maybe; I guess we'll never know. We make a half-hearted attempt to rewrite the uninspired basket of deplorables that compose today's strip before Chris blows this shit wide open by coining a brand new catchphrase of Garfieldian derision. You won't want to miss it!

Confusing nomenclature abounds in this, the sixth ever Garfield comic strip. The boys discuss just what in the hell a 'catburger' is and why we should care, and then gush over the strip's historic first use of onomatopoeia. At no point does anyone make reference to this strip running on 'Caturday'.Today's stripCatburgerUsage of 'nonplussed':http://grammarist.com/usage/nonplussed/ http://languagelog.ldc.upenn.edu/nll/?p=453http://www.grammarphobia.com/blog/2015/08/nonplussed.html

Episode 3 - Wednesday, June 21, 1978

Mo' mice, mo' problems. What's a self-respecting semi-anthropomorphic-cat owner to do? Today's installment officially brings us the third living organism we have seen inhabit the Garfield universe (GarfVerse). Although theologians and natural philosophers alike would continue to debate the precise nature of the GarfVerse for many years to come, this was the final nail in the coffin for the two-organism theory of Garfield cosmology.Today's stripPrimer on Zen Buddhism
