Ep 28: Neurodivergence in the Perioperative Setting (Part 2) (Charmaine Bellamy)

Recorded on April 1, 2024.

Join us this week where Charmaine Bellamy, a public health nurse and mother to a child with autism, talks about caring for patients with autism or other neurodivergent conditions and their families in the perioperative setting.

Charmaine shares her heartfelt journey as a Registered Nurse with over two decades of experience in the Saskatchewan Health Authority, alongside her role as a dedicated parent to a 17-year-old with non-verbal autism and complex medical needs. Her unwavering commitment to equity shines through as she fiercely advocates for her son and other marginalized individuals in the face of systemic obstacles. These values are ingrained in her personal and professional endeavors, evident in her compassionate care as an RN and her advocacy as a Public School Board Trustee in Saskatoon for the past 8 years.
