Day 29: Genesis 48-50

Today on Meditating the Word, we finish the Book of Genesis. Jacob blesses Joseph's sons and his own sons, and prophesies the coming Messiah through the lineage of Judah; Jacob dies and is buried in the land of Canaan; and Joseph dies and is put in a coffin in Egypt.

This is Day 29. Today we are reading Genesis Chapters 48-50.

Father God, What a magnificent history, through all of it's twists and turns. Your word is sure. Even when we take detours from your plan, Father, you are able to re-route us and get us back on track again. You make the weak strong, the lesser greater. Throughout the book of Genesis, we have seen prophecies of the coming Messiah, even in Jacob's blessing on Judah. We have seen you carefully preserve the lineage through which our savior would be born. Thank you, Father, for your unfailing love and mercy. Amen
