Day 55: Numbers 3-4

Today on Meditating the Word, the Levites are claimed by God in place of the firstborn; the duties are assigned to the different clans; and the Levite clans are numbered.

This is Day 55. Today we are reading Numbers Chapters 3-4

Father God, you amaze us. You are able to take our brokenness, and use us anyway. Levi missed out on a blessing from Jacob because of his violent revenge over his sister Dinah. But generations later, when the children of Israel made the golden calf in the wilderness, the tribe of Levi stepped forward when Moses called. They declared themselves to be on the side of the Lord. When it came time to choose priests for your people, you chose the tribe of Levi. You are the God of second chances. Help us, Father, to step forward when you call and be willing to serve you with all of our heart, our mind, and our soul. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray. Amen
